Tommy Jackson is a Natchez native who received his BFA from the University of Southern Mississippi; his MFA from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and his MA in Research/Design/Theatre at Chelsea University in London.  Tommy’s background in directing and designing include theatre, dance and opera, as well as set construction and teaching theatre and design on a college and high school level.  He is retired from the Mississippi Department of Health as the Public Health Environmentalist Supervisor and as the Director and Scenic Designer for the Natchez Festival of Music.  Tommy has acted professionally across the United States in numerous National Tours of Broadway shows including Hair; Two Gentlemen of Verona; Your Own Thing; Godspell; Shenandoah; The Lost Colony and Unto These Hills.  With North Carolina Rep he directed Two Gentlemen of Verona; Equus; Stop the World; Indianans; Pirates of Penzance; and The Robber Bridegroom.  With South Carolina Rep Tommy directed Becket; Hair; Cabaret; Shenandoah; The Physicist and Dear World.  With Natchez Little Theatre he has directed Grease; The Sound of Music; The Lion in Winter; Equus; The Little Shop of Horrors; Big River; La Cage aux Folles (Best Musical & Best Director of a Musical); The Hobbit; Twain by the Tale and Chicago.
