The Hobbit

Our 59th Season offers an incredible variety of theatre classics: a comedy, a hilarious mystery, three musicals, a drama, an original musical Christmas production, a modern revue, the 4th Annual Stan Dean Ovation Awards Gala as well as the 3rd Annual Summer Youth Workshop.  That's a lot of entertainment and we offer seven levels of membership.   We open this season with the musical of J.R.R. Tolkien's classic, The Hobbit, August 3 - 6, 2006. Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evening during Fall Pilgrimage, September 30 - October 14, 2006 as well as one Sunday matinee, October 15, 2006, Big River will be presented. Talk about fun, this hand clappin', toe tappin', Roger Miller musical adventure down the Mighty Mississippi is about Huckleberry Finn and based on the works of Mark Twain.  Big River won the Tony award for Best Musical.  If you are coming to Natchez during Fall Pilgrimage this show is a must see. November 9 - 12, 2006, we will present the longest running play in Broadway history, the wickedly amusing who'll do it, Deathtrap, by Ira Levin.  December 8 - 10, 12 and 15 - 17, 2006 will find Natchez Little Theatre’s original production of A Natchez Christmas Carol set in Natchez just after the Civil War with period Christmas music and costumes.  This popular holiday hit will get you in the mood for a uniquley Natchez Christmas.  January 25 - 28, 2007, will bring the dramatic thriller, The Bad Seed, to the NLT stage.  February 23 - 25, 2007 Natchez Little Theatre in cooperation with the Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration will present a modern revue based on the works of Mark Twain entitled, Twain by the Tale.  During the Spring Pilgrimage,  March 10 - April 14, 2007, it’s time for a little Southern Exposure every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evening with a final Sunday matinee on April 15, 2007. This Broadway play by Owen Crump, who wrote for "I Love Lucy,"  is set in 1950’s Natchez. The romantic comedy about Natchez and the Pilgrimage has been a visitor favorite for over 50 years, making it one of the longest running plays in community theater history and the ultimate Natchez story.  The season closes May 31 -June 3, 2007, with the bawdy Tony and Academy Award winning Kander and Ebb musical Chicago.  July 15, 2007, will find the fourth annual Stan Dean Ovation Awards Gala at the Ballroom of the Natchez Eola Hotel, celebrating the Best of Natchez Little Theatre's  59th Season.  It's going to be another great season at Natchez Little Theatre and you don’t want to miss it!  Season Memberships are available through July 15, 2006, and one of the best bargains around.  Individual tickets for all productions are on sale throughout the year by contacting the Natchez Little Theatre Box Office at 601.442.2233 or toll free at 1.877.440.2233 or by e-mail link below.  Adult tickets are $15 and senior citizens, 60 and above, and children, 18 and under are $12.  We look forward to seeing you at Natchez Little Theatre, one of America's most active, non-profit, volunteer, community theatres!
